Achromatic doublet lens

Achromatic double gluing lens is an optical design that combines two single lenses. The lenses are made from glass with a different index of refraction and dispersion, usually Crown glass on one side and flint glass on the other. Achromatic double glulam is a combination of a low dispersive corona glass positive lens and a high dispersive flint glass negative lens. This combination produces better image quality than a single lens.
